Hey, this is nou soua from english. Some of the classmates wants to know what happens if we didn't finish the 2nd book. Can we just use a book that we already finish that we can still relate to?

And Jari said what happens if you lost one of your book.

From Isaac, "How do you do the paragraph quotes?"

Nou Soua--If you didn't read two books this past semester, you'll have to write the whole project on just the one that was read. Now, if you happened to have read a different book that fits the theme this year you could use that one too. You need to have read the books this semester, but not necessarily for my class. I hope this helps.

Jari--If you lost one of your books, try to check it out from the public library. You will have to pay a fine for the lost book, but if you check it out from a different library for your project, you might find the other one later.

Isaac--Paragraph quote directions:
Type the text as you would a normal paragraph. Then, highlight the section and move the tab over so the whole selection is indented 10 spaces. You do not use quotation marks for indented pargraphs and the end punctuation is placed before the parenthetical citation, instead of after like you would for a short quote.

Let me know if you have any other questions!

John King--
Thanks for the greetings. I am sure the ninth graders are working hard; they are very good students! As for my journey, it is wonderful! The ocean couldn't be more beautiful. I am currently in Aruba and after a few family reunion pictures, we all get to go to the beach--I am really excited to get there!

Hey, this is Zoe from third hour, and I was just wondering if the paper should be typed single or double spaced? and are we going to present on Monday, or do peer editing first?

Hey this is nou soua again. For your book. What if you have more than one main character. Because one of my book is like House on Mango Street. It has a lot of stories in them. Should I just choose one story out of the whole book and focus on that? Because it's hard to do the section A with the characterizing.

Zoe,
Please double space your paper. We will present the projects on Tuesday in case you have any questions on Monday. Do bring your paper to class though on Monday. See you tomorrow.

Nou Soua,
If you have more than one main character for your book, you can choose one for your project. Of course, you will talk about all of them in the character list section, but for the actual paper, choose one character.

Hope your project is going well!

Is the theme part of the first section supposed to be written seperately for each book or as one for both?

Lara,
Either--which ever works better for your project. You should have some kind of compare and/or contrast though whether it is done as two separate essays or one.

Ms. Peifer-
I was wondering how long should each item from part B be?

Zoe,
I think I am more concerned with each section being finished and completed thoroughly versus a page length. Look at the whole paper length to get an approximate, but focus more on writing thoughtfully versus fulfilling a page limit.
